This one was knocked out at UTSC in AA303 - a room that I became quite familiar with during my time there. It had a lovely baby grand piano that I could go to at all hours of the night. This was recorded during one of those sessions. It's a simple song about fearing the worst when you've found something, or someone, good.
It has all the signs of a workman-like song - I don't think there was too much involved in this one. I just hit upon that seven note refrain and it finished itself from there. Certainly a song that could have used some more work to bring up to snuff! Where's the bridge?!
lyrics
You seem so far away, dear
Seems like it's impossible to stay here
And we're on different sides now
You say it's impossible to see clear
But then I fall out of bed
It was all in my head
A normal fear when you've found someone like her
Someone so dear
You say we're out of touch now
But you don't say what it is we're missing
What I never tell you
Is that we've already fallen to the ground
But then I fall out of bed
It was all in my head
A normal fear when you've found someone like her
Someone so dear
