I was listening to a lot of Dr. Dog with this one. I don't know if it really shows or anything but I distinctly remember being inspired by a couple of their songs (Oh No and The Rabbit, the Bat and the Reindeer - to be specific!). I have an affinity for songs that have completely different sections nestled within the whole. I attempted to do that with this one with the bridge in the middle.
This song attempts to detail my lack of eloquence in describing feelings of ineptness in regards to keeping friendships going instead of having them fizzle out.
lyrics
Sometimes it feels like I've got nothing to say
But it's hard to put it the right way
"You've lost your edge, led your friends astray
And I just can't see it any other way"
I'd love to tell you...
It's running late. It's getting harder to stay
But you don't see why I care anyway
I'd love to tell you...
(Heartache) The heart interferes again
And I don't know why I came here today
But since I'm here I'm gonna stay
And I don't know what I came here to say
But I'm going to try to say it anyway
You've run out of people to blame
But once you fall out you're never the same
