This was an attempt at emulating something, but I don't quite remember what. A friend was feeling really down. So I wrote this as a gentle request for that person to stick around a while longer. Thankfully, the person that inspired this is still around to this day.
lyrics
As long as I've known you I've been ashamed
Aloof in the treetops running through the pain
As long as I've found you I've never been the same
Underneath the water nothing seems to change
Run north to south, run west to east
As long as I'm living you'll be in my memory
Live a litte longer try to get some peace
As long as you're alive you're just waiting to be released
The flight is neverending the struggle is plain
The confusion burns deeper the more we question the game
As clouds dissipate and rivers cry to the sea
You have a thousand sons waiting to receive
Run north to south, run west to east
As long as I'm living you'll be in my memory
Live a litte longer try to get some peace
As long as you're alive you're just waiting to be released
