I've always loved this one but it's a little strange! There's no chorus or verse structure really - it's almost like an exerpt from a scene rather than the whole scene. I've always liked trying to mess with common song formats and structure. In this case it's almost a song structure of ABC with the underlying melody on the electric wind organ keeping it all together.
This song was inspired by a $10 purchase I made at a flea market in St. John, New Brunswick. It's a Magnus Chord Organ - you plug it in and it starts to suck air in through the bottom and run it through reeds to make it sound basically like an accordion. I've written a few songs with it over the years but so far this is the one I like the most.
lyrics
You can just sit there and gather your thoughts
I'll just be right over here, you can call me for anything
There's something in my eyes you know you can trust
There's a warmth in your touch that I've never felt before
I'm not trying to hurt you or take advantage of your situation
You're a friend in need and that's all I need to know to help you out
