A bit of a rant about politics. Is it the system? Is it the people? Probably both! The system breeds the type people that enter into it. Perhaps it's too cynical but there's a lot to be disappointed with. There's a lot of good elements to this one but it never quite hit the mark - I don't know if I can sound angrier! I think that might be what this needed...
lyrics
The votes pour in
A nation holds its breath
Who will win? The right or the left?
For most it's just another day
"What will my vote do anyway?" They say
The doubters, oh they take note
Half of eligible voters didnt vote
And does it really even matter anymore?
The same parties have been here for years
Plagued with scandals, doubts and fears
My family has been voting liberal for 50 years
So why should I be the one to change our minds?
And does it really even matter anymore?
This candidate is perfect for my town
But a vote for her is a vote for the party that will run this country
In to the ground
So I'll vote the other way
You can't afford to be selfish these days
