This song came out of nowhere. A little ditty that I recorded in a few takes almost live - I added the bass after. This is one of those songs that maybe I could have worked on more to make it sound complete - but at the time I felt that it was appropriate for what it was: another snapshot into someone's day.
I do have occasional bouts of depression like anyone else but I have the good fortune of being able to keep pushing until I give it up for calmer waters. Easier said than done for some, of course - so for all those people out there: give me a shout if you ever need it! It's always good to have a receptive ear and a helping hand.
lyrics
I'm so sad
I don't know why but I am
I guess life's like that
It could be the things I never had
But I doubt that
I don't mean to be so sad but I am right now
I don't mean to be so sad but I am right now
Gotta turn that hurt into joy
Gotta turn that hatred into love
Gotta keep on pushing lest I find that the hurting turns me blind
I'm so sad
I don't know why but I am
I guess life's like that
I don't mean to be so cruel but I am right now
I don't mean to be a fool but I am one right now
Gotta turn that hurt into joy
Gotta turn that hatred into love
Gotta keep on pushing lest I find that hurting turns me blind
I don't mean to be so cruel but I am right now
I don't mean to be a fool but I am one
I don't mean to be so sad so help me
I don't mean to be so sad help me out
I don't mean to be so sad so help me out
You gotta help me out
